Hydroplate Theory Baby!

Learning Geology the YEC way.

Here is an animation of the Great Flood. It is narrated by a retired director of a major DOD research Center, Walter Brown, PhD MIT scientist and NSF fellow:
Hydroplate Theory

Here is an excerpt of another person explaining a portion of Hydroplate theory:

    “Huge ‘Ocean’ Discovered Inside Earth”

From February 28, 2007. My first thought when I read it was hydroplate theory.

Another great article, just out today about dinosaur death throws. Paleontologists discuss that the majority of dinosaur skeletons are found in a “death throw” positin. Many Darwinists have lamely claimed that bones were arranged in that position by water after the animal died. In this article the scientists show how the posture is actually more likely from some kind of trauma consistent with aphyxiation, or water drowning. This is something creationists have long noted.

Faux and Padian argue in Paleobiology that the dinosaurs died in this posture as a result of damage to the central nervous system. In fact, the posture is well known to neurologists as opisthotonus and is due to damage to the brain’s cerebellum. In humans and animals, cerebellar damage can result from suffocation, meningitis, tetanus or poisoning, and typically accompanies a long, slow death.

Some animals found in this posture may have suffocated in an ash fall during a volcanic eruption, consistent with the fact that many fossils are found in ash deposits, Faux and Padian said.

One argument against the great flood is how could water cover the whole earth and where did all of the water go? I have shown in the first post how an entire ocean has been found in the crust.

Now today, scientist are speculating that Mars was once covered 1/3 by water.

The case for an ancient ocean on Mars just got stronger.

For years scientists have been baffled by what look like shorelines on Mars. But, impossibly, sea level appears to have been 2.5 kilometres higher in some parts than in others – so many have doubted the ocean really existed. Now Taylor Perron of the University of California, Berkeley, and colleagues think that massive wobbles in the planet’s rotation may explain the mystery.

Working with a mathematical model of Mars, the team found that volcanic eruptions and asteroid impacts could have caused the planet’s poles to shift in the past, a phenomenon called true polar wander. A side effect of this would have been large-scale deformation in the crust, accounting for the strangely varying coastline heights.

Pay attention to the details there. The ocean rose by 2.5 kilometers caused by “large-scale deformation of the crust.” Parallels to hydroplate theory are clear.

The final mystery of what happened to the oceans of Mars is not yet solved.

The final piece of the puzzle, he adds, will be finding how enough water to fill the basin is now buried in the crust.

The first post on this thread relating to oceans in the crust of the earth may be a hint of where the water went on Mars and after the flood on earth.

I skipped the videos (I’m on dial up) but I’m checking out the livescience article now. For those of us who hold out for a literal reading of Genesis, these discoveries are more than welcome, not to mention exciting. I’m no longer surprised at developments supporting Genesis accounts, but they are still inspiring.

(Genesis 7:11) In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up[Heb. baqa - breach, rend, open], and the windows of heaven were opened.

    [later that year...]

    (Genesis 8:2) The fountains also of the deep and the windows of heaven were stopped, and the rain from heaven was restrained;

It is hypothesized by hydroplate theory that the fountains of the deep projected water into outer space which came down as heavy described in the Bible.

Here is an article that describes the moons of Saturn shooting debri into outer space, demonstrating the type of forces generated inside a planet are strong enough to shoot substances into outer space.

Here is another recent article explaining how various regions of North America are kept afloat by heat within Earth’s rocky crust, and how much of the continent would sink beneath sea level if not for heat that makes rock buoyant. The article explains how a change in heat flow in the crust would affect elevation drastically.

For example, the New England (Central) Appalachians Province has an average elevation of 897 feet, but if its rocky crust were cooled to that of old, colder continental crust like the Canadian Shield, the province would sit 563 feet below sea level, a drop of 1,460 feet. New York City, within that province, has an elevation listed as 33 feet. Subtract 1,460 feet and the Big Apple gets dunked 1,427 feet below sea level.
