[Introductory Creation Science]

jb asked that I post my thoughts on evidences for YEC. He asked in comment #3, Wavelength behavior at a fixed location, Jellison and Bridgman’s critique…

Maybe you could make a blog post elaborating on this in layman/popular-audience terms. What are the specific physical evidences that have moved you more toward accepting a YEC model? What are the problems you’ve identified with galactic, stellar and planetary evolution?

I will offer answers over several threads as the topic is deep. So let me introduce the topic.

Criticisms of YEC RATE group

Thursday, May 31st, 2007

Several years ago (before 2003),  there was a joint venture by 3 prominent creationist organizations (ICR, AiG, CRS) seeking to find serious flaws in mainstream radiometric dating techniques.  The venture was known as RATE (Radioactivity and the Age of The Earth).  However, not every creationist (myself included) was enthusiastic with the quality of the work.  Consider this post by Helen Setterfield:

Helen Setterfield on RATE

“In response to the RATE material. We disagree strongly with a lot of what they are proposing. They are saying the speed of radio decay accelerated miraculously during creation week and during the Flood. We disagree. The speed of radio decay is linked to the changes in all the atomic constants, which are triggered by the changes in the Zero Point Energy. This article of Barry’s might help:

It summarizes his work for the last ten years.

God bless. ”
